1. Route guidance with text-to-speech.
2. Automatic adjustment of day and night map colors.
3. Integrated iPod controls so you can control your music from inside the application.
4. Location exchange via e-mail.
Depending on the chosen language you will also hear a different voice (at least the English voice is adapted). Text-to-speech is in itself a good improvement, although the pronunciation sounds a bit contrived with difficult street names or combinations of languages (such as Count Basie Street in Almere).
The integration of iPod lets you browse playlists, artists and albums from the application. It is difficult to quit the application to choose a new playlist. Therefore it is best to start the music first and then start Navigon. From Navigon it is easy to pause, skip, change the volume and perform other popular functions during listening to the music. What is also useful is that you can not only change the volume of the music from the application, but also the volume of the spoken route instructions.
Location sharing implies that you can send an address or POI to others. The recipient must have the iPhone or Navigon to run, they can be sent immediately as the destination location sent, after which a route is automatically calculated. Thus it is easier to meet up.
