Trick Effect & Routine:
Card Sandwich Effect: The performer allows the spectator to select any card..lets say the Ace of hearts(AH) I prefer them to sign it to make it more convincing but if you can prove its an ordinary deck of cards It still gets a great reaction. Okay, for now you set the selected card aside. You then allow the spectator to select 2 'helper' cards. And set those aside. You now take the (AH) and shuffle it into the deck. Then, take the 2 'helper' cards, show that they are just 2 cards and you have done no funny moves (they can take a look at them), and the (AH) instantly appears sandwiched in the middle of the 2 'helper' cards.

Preparation:
Deck of cards, (sharpie, pen, or any marker is optional for signature)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Method:
There are 2 ways of doing this trick, the 2nd version you just use a different technique of forcing the card to the top which may be more convincing.
1. You begin by allowing the spectator to select any card and signing it(AH in this example),(signature is optional) You then set that card aside, and allow them to select 2 \'helper\' cards. Now set those 2 cards aside and take the (AH), and cut it to the middle of the deck, holding a break above the selected card. Now what I like to do is take half of the pack above the break and cut it to the bottom, then take the remaining cards above the break and cut it to the bottom, which just forced their selected card to the top of the deck, you can choose any method. Then shuffle a few more times, controlling the selected card to remain at the top of the deck. Now, you let the spectator examine the 2 cards that are still set aside. While they are doing that, hold a pinky break above the top card (selected card - AH) This should appear invisible to them as it takes less than a second to do and their attention is on the 2 \'helper\' cards. Now ask for the 2 helper cards to be handed to you. You now take them, and put them face up on top of the deck, above the break. So now you should have the (AH) as the first card above the break, which is of course face down, and the 2 \'helper\' cards above that - 3 cards total. Now you take the 3 cards above the break in the hand that is not holding the deck. The cards should remain closed not exposing their selected card. Lets say the 3-cards are in your left hand. You take your right hand, and using your thumb, pull off the top card, and put it at the bottom(The cards should be in a 2-card fanning position) What you just did was allowed the bottom card, which was the selected card, travel to be the middle card. Now all you have to do is close the pack, with the selected card in the middle. Snap your fingers, and spread the 3 cards, showing that the selected card has been sandwiched between the 2 \'helper\' cards. You can also, instead of closing the pack and making the selected card appear in the middle, cut the cards to the middle of the deck, and then spread through the cards, and show that the 2 \'helper\' cards have found the (AH).
2. This is not necessarily a different routine of the trick. All you do is, instead of taking the selected card and pretend to cut it to the middle of the deck, and then force it to the top.. you can, while they are observing the 2 cards before handing it to you, push off the top card of the deck, and slide the selected card under it, keeping a break. You then take the 2 cards above the break, perform a double lift, and then put the TOP card, which they believe to be the selected card, and put it in the middle of the pack. The selected card is now still on the top of the deck which is believed to be in the middle. You now just shuffle up the pack, keeping their selected card on the top.. and go from there.
