Top work Mr Marr. Endearingly eccentric, enthusiastic, exhilarating overview of Britain. Of course there are gaps and highly debatable views, but he got all the top stories on the screen and reminded (hopefully) hundreds of thousands of people how we got to where we are. This is the sort of thing that makes history shimmer and excite - whetting the appetite for more in-depth explorations of each of the powerful stories that made up this wonderful series. I particularly enjoyed the episode that covered Harold Wilson - a time that i know little about but this programme made me want to dive into it and explore. And fragments of childhood memory came back to me during the episode on the 80s - my father�s hulking mobile phone and the disappearance of my village bobby to go to the miners� strikes. Very evocative. Running over all of this was Marr�s rich and engaging language - his presenting was the icing on the cake. Overall, Bonkers but brilliant.

لطفاً گول پیرنگ اصلی قصه را که به نظر آشنا می آید[کارآگاهی که در حسرت یافتن قاتلی سریالی می سوزد و خود را ‏در الکل غرق کرده] نخورید. آنامورف یک تریلر مستقل، خوش ساخت و بسیار متفاوت تر از آنی است که می پندارید. ‏این تفاوت را مدیون پس زمینه ای است که انتخاب کرده و شما را وادار می کند تا نقاشی و هنرهای تجسمی را یک بار ‏دیگر و این بار با نگاهی دقیق تر کشف کنید. ‏

البته اگر سریال بررسی محل جنایت/‏‎ CSI‎‏ و قهرمان اصلی آن گریسام[با بازی ویلیام پیترسون] را دیده باشید، با چنین ‏جزئیاتی در فیلمنامه و قاتلین سریالی نابغه آن آشنایی دارید و پیرنگ این فیلم نیز شاید برایتان چیز تازه ای نباشد. اما ‏باورکنید دقت میلر و همکارش در استفاده از تاریخ هنرهای تجسمی و اثار فرانسیس بیکن به حد وسواس شایسته تحسین ‏است. او کوشیده تا از ورای روانشناسی قاتل و کارآگاه روح زمانه را دریابد. آنامورف یک تریلر روانشناختی است و ‏می کوشد تا حقیقت را چیزی پیچیده و بسته به زاویه دید هر کس تعریف کند. از این رو فضایی که او اطراف قهرمانش ‏خلق می کند کابوس گونه و حال و هوایی چون آثار دیوید لینچ یا فیلم جان مک ناوت[هنری: تصویر یک قاتل سریالی] ‏دارد. پس لطفاً آن را با زودیاک که برخی آن را حرف آخر در تریلرهای جنایی می دانند، یا فیلم های داریو آرجنتو ‏مقایسه نکنید. شاید پس زمینه حوادث فیلم واقعی نباشد، اما محصول خیال میلر نیز ارزش تماشایش را دارد. ‏

یک جوخه از سربازان آمریکایی در نزدیکی سامرا. آنخل سالازار به شکل تفننی از اعضای جوخه فیلم می گیرد. او ‏آرزو دارد تا پس از خروج از ارتش وارد دانشکده سینمایی کالیفرنیای جنوبی شود. از طریق فیلم های او با دیگر ‏اعضای گروه آشنا می شویم. سرگروهبان سوییت که به افرادش دستور می دهد تا از معاشرت با بچه های عراقی ‏خودداری کنند، چون آنها چشم و گوش شورشی ها محسوب می شوند. رنو فلیک متعصب، بی. بی. راش چاق و چله و ‏مک کوی وکیل که مرتبا در حال خواندن رمان است. پس از حادثه ای در پست بازرسی که منجر به کشته شدن زنی ‏عرب و باردار بر اثر تیراندازی دو نفر از سربازان آمریکایی می شود، افراد محلی تصمیم به انتقام می گیرند. خشونت ‏بالا می گیرد و دو سرباز نیز بقیه جوخه را وادار می کنند تا دست به عملیات خصوص و انتقام جویانه ای بزنند. ‏سالازار نیز که دوربین را در کلاه خودش جاسازی کرده از تجاوز آنها به دختر پانزده ساله عراقی و سپس قتل او و ‏خانواده اش فیلم می گیرد. ‏

چرا باید دید؟
برایان راسل د پالمای 68 ساله زاده نیوجرسی از فیلمسازانی است که با فیلم های مستقل شروع کرده و حالا از ‏کارگردان های مشهور آمریکا به شمار می رود. از توفیق اولیه اش در 1973 با فیلم خواهران تا سانسور شده راه ‏زیادی پیموده، با فیلمنامه نویسان معتبری چون پل شرایدر، جان فریس و الیور استون کار کرده، یکی از بهترین اقتباس ‏ها را از داستان های استون کینگ[کری] کارگردانی کرده و فیلم پر فروشی چون تسخیر ناپذیرها را از فیلمنامه دیوید ‏ممت ساخته است. ارادت غریبی به هیچکاک دارد، از ‏Split screen‏ بسیار استفاده می کند و برداشت های بلندش به ‏عنوان نمونه در شیوه کارلیتو در تاریخ سینما جایگاهی خاص دارند. اما خودش بارها گفته که "سینما همیشه دروغ می ‏گوید، آن هم 24 دفعه در ثانیه". بنابراین دیدن فیلمی چون سانسور شده که قصد دارد نگاهی مستندگونه و از زوایای ‏مختلف به حادثه ای واحد را عرضه کند، در حکم نوعی نقیضه است. ‏
شاید همین ویژگی آن باعث شده تا تماشاگر آمریکایی دوستدار فیلم های د پالما به آن پشت کند. البته شکست تجاری فیلم ‏کم هزینه چون سانسور شده[تنها 5 میلیون دلار بودجه] نمی تواند لطمه ای به کارنامه استاد وارد کند که جوایزی هم ‏پشت قباله اش دارد. با این وجود باید اعتراف کنم که شخصاً ترجیه می دهم یک مستند واقعی را تماشا کنم تا یک ‏مستندنمایی خسته کننده که بسیاری آن را انتقاد آمیز نیز خوانده اند. در حالی که د پالما چندان دل نگران عراقی ها ‏نیست. تنها ایده ممکن در نزد او و بسیاری فیلمسازان لیبرال آمریکایی نیش زدن به دولت است که مانع پخش اخبار به ‏شکل سانسور نشده هستند. این یعنی اصرار بر اصلاح سیستم و بس! کاری که الیور استون سرآمد آن است. فیلم چندان ‏به عمق حوادث نمی رود. همه چیز چون گزارش های خبری یا فیلم های خانگی در سطح باقی می ماند، در حالی که د ‏پالما نیز از دستکاری در حقیقت[مخصوصاً عکس های پایانی فیلم] برای تاثیر گذاری بیشتر روی گردان نیست. این هم ‏یک دلیل دیگر برای اثبات حرف خود او درباره دروغ گویی سینما و این که حقیقت اولین تلفات هر جنگی است!‏

These interesting documentaries follow one another quite well. The first, Dino Deathtrap, is a story of a huge deposit of dinosaur bones found in overlaying segments in a single location in China. Several new to science species are uncovered. The title is well approached in this episode. The second episode is not so well put together and arrives at no finality. At the end, we are left without fulfilment. It is a spectaular find, but the science of unveiling the fossil uniqueness and what the fossil offers. THere are many theories and speculation, but very little about the fossil comes to light. We find out that the beasst is larger than thought, has larger legs and a much deeper pelvis than thought, but anything is speculative at this point.

One of the most controversial and complex theories regarding the sinking of the Titanic was put forward by Robert Gardiner in his book ‘TITANIC: The Ship That Never Sank?’ (Published 1999).
In it, Gardiner draws on several events and coincidences that occurred in the months, days and hours leading up to the sinking of the Titanic to form his theory. Put simply, his theory is that the ship that hit the iceberg on 14 April 1912 was in fact the Titanic’s sister-ship the Olympic, disguised as the Titanic. All this was part of an insurance scam of huge proportions by the White Star Line.
The Olympic was the older sister to the Titanic, built alongside the more famous vessel but launched much earlier, in October 1910. She was to all purposes identical to the Titanic, save for small detailing such as the promenade deck windows. These were not glazed in the Olympic. In the Titanic the front half of the promenade deck was fitted with smaller glazed windows to protect passengers from spray.
On September 20, 1911, the Olympic was involved in a collision with the Royal Navy cruiser HMS Hawke near Southampton. The cruiser smashed its ram into the side of the Olympic, seriously damaging both ships. The inquiry (an internal Royal Navy one) found its ship free of all blame. This set in motion Gardiner’s theory.

This DVD stays at the similar style as Secret Yellowstone by NG. It is not for people who want to get an overview of this park. It is just focused on some special topics, climbing El Capitan, climbing Half Dome, global warming and the Giant Sequoia. The part of Climbing El Capitan is quite an eye-opener for me, especially the King Swing. It is beyond my original imagination. For people who never have an experience of rock climbing like me, it is very exciting to see this. The shooting quality is good as most films by NG. The animation is helpful to explain the science and geology. Overall, this film is suitable for people who want to know something not commonly seen in Yosemite.
